Jeannette Joy Hormuth
When the eye of a gifted photographer moves beyond a subject's surface directly to its true substance and captures that quintessence for all to see, the result is a truly significant photograph. Jeannette Joy Hormuth creates such photographs as she sensitively blends a revealing interplay of light and shadow, emotion and spontaneity.
No posed, stilted or belabored images are found in her portfolio of fine art prints and commissioned portraiture. As a silent observer behind the lens, Jeannette says
"I look for that fleeting window in time when I can capture that eternal spark or soul as expressed so uniquely and wonderfully by each individual subject"
A person of many talents, Jeannette is a musician/teacher, composer/arranger and writer/editor. Involved with photography for 20 years, she formerly worked with distinguished LIFE Magazine photo-journalist Leigh Wiener.
Born and raised in Los Angeles, Jeannette has traveled extensively throughout the U.S., Canada, Nova Scotia, and Mexico.
